Who we are

TheGenie was founded by Caran Masheder, a mum who worked full time as a primary school teacher. Needless to say there were not enough hours in her day to work, enjoy the family and keep the house clean.

Caran looked for a cleaning company that cleaned every inch of her house as thoroughly as she, who offered outstanding value for money, and who were professional, trustworthy and flexible.

However, she also wanted, on occasions a complete house keeping service. Spring cleaning, laundry, bed stripping and making, ironing, one-off cleans and post party cleans.

She discovered the only way to get all of these services from one company was to start her own business, "TheGenie", the cleaning company she was looking for.

In June 2015 the business was sold to Lyn and Gwyneth Archer who had been with the company from its early days in 2005.

Lyn said, "We understand the clients needs, and provide a flexible, thorough, affordable and available at short notice."

Gwneth added, "We will stay as a family run business and maintain the values of The Genie."
